Alopecia Makeup - Alopecia areata often occurs in people whose family members have other autoimmune diseases, such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, thyroid disease, systemic lupus erythematosus, pernicious anemia, or Addison's disease. Alopecia areata is a very unforeseeable, skin disorder that will cause hair loss on the scalp and possibly other areas of the body.
There are some treatments for alopecia areata but keep in mind that while these treatments may promote hair growth, none of them prevent new patches or actually cure the underlying disease. There is no cure for alopecia areata and no drugs have been approved for its treatment directly, but other medications meant for different disorders have have been helpful to for hair regrowth.
Alopecia makeup is a wonderful way to mask the side effects of this disease. Makeup can be artfully used to add eyebrows or eyelashes. Some have used makeup to give the illusion of hair on the scalp. You may even want to try permanent makeup so you do not have to fuss with it everyday. Losing your hair can be devastating to your self esteem so anything that you can do to boost your confidence will be well worth the effort.
